The shift in Microsoft’s focus from hardware to its cloud business and software has definitely increased its revenue. Microsoft saw a revenue rise of 47 per cent in the last quarter among business customers that use cloud services around Microsoft Office. “Our customers are seeing greater value and opportunity as we partner with them through their digital transformation,” said Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft. He had recently announced, there will be an increase in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve its products in the coming years.
In May this year, Microsoft will be launching an app called GazeSpeak. This app is created to support people with motor disabilities like ALS. The only way for people with these conditions to communicate is through eye movement. GazeSpeak runs on a smartphone and uses computer vision to recognise the eye gestures, and artificial intelligence to convert eye movements into speech. This will help a conversation partner to understand what is being said in real time.
Bigtincan – a sales platform provider, founded in Australia and based in Boston, has created an easy to use AI-directed software, targeted to boost sales and lift efficiency for mobile workforces. “Foreseeing, AI revolutionize and change the way businesses interact with customers and secure sales, is the reason we introduced this product in the market”, said David Keane, co-founder and chief executive – Bigtincan.
The purpose of this cloud-based Bigtincan Hub technology is to save salesforce’s time spent searching through databases for material ahead of meetings with clients. This app works across mobile devices and desktops, pushes up-to-date information, to mobile sales forces, and advises a salesman on field about the kinds of actions, materials and content they should use and how they should interact with their customer.
Bigtincan has more than 300 customers across 35 countries, including major corporations like AT&T, Merck and Guess.
