The serene landscape, the deep backwaters, the swaying coconut palms- more than these, the city of Kochi is bustling with the growing tech population. There is no wonder why investors choose Kochi as one of their hot destinations. The city feels proud to have hosted one of the grand tech events of the year, RubyConf India 2017 at Le Meridien, Kochi on 27-29 January 2017.

Two open source developers from Suyati- Aswanth Kumar KS and George Tony represented us at the event. They attended the 2 day long sessions which also included the magnificent keynote from Matz (The Father of Ruby language).

Aswanth, Vijesh and Subish- all Ruby developers at Suyati- also participated in a 5km marathon which was held on the first day of the conference as part of promoting the event. In their words, it was an unforgettable experience to listen to some of the established and prominent figures in the world of Ruby. Aswanth and Tony also had a chance to engage in a direct discussion with Matz on the speed of Ruby and Ruby 3. Some of the other interesting talks included a session from RailsGirls Open Source Community, Concurrent Ruby, mRuby for embedded systems, SciRuby for Scientific computations, and good practices for using Services Oriented Architecture.
