Yesterday (23rd Nov), Microsoft introduced its most popular version of Solitaire Collection to iOS and Android platforms. The game has been existent on Windows for more than two decades now. For the first time, Microsoft is making the Solitaire Collection available outside Windows. Microsoft is now offering Solitaire to iOS and Android free of cost. The tech giant believes that this will increase the user base of Solitaire. As of now, the figures indicate that Solitaire has been used by more than 119 million people on the Windows 8 and Windows 10 versions.
The Solitaire package for iOS and Android will include game types like Klondike, Spider, FreeCell, Pyramid, and Tripeaks. There will daily solvable challenges for players. Another interesting fact is the integration of Xbox Live into Solitaire that allows you to sign into Solitaire and play with your pals and earn achievements. You can also play on multiple devices since your progress will be tracked and recorded in the cloud.
Microsoft is also releasing a “Premium Edition” which is charged $1.99 per month that comes ad-free. This also offers double coin rewards for daily game challenges. Several versions of Solitaire games are already available on iOS and Android, but Microsoft claims its version to be “world’s number 1”. The introduction of Solitaire is all set to evoke the classic game’s nostalgia among users. You can download the iOS version from Apple’s App Store, or the Android equivalent from Google’s Play Store.
