LoadUIWeb is an open source performance, stress, scalability and load testing tool for web applications. A product from SmartBear Software, it’s an easy tool to install and use.
Some of the basic steps of a load test are as follows:
- Prepare the web application for load test.
- Record the required scenario.
- Give the required load.
- Analyze the result.
The following are the steps to do a basic load test using LoadUIWeb
- Installation of LoadUIWeb
- Download the latest version of LoadUIWeb form the following link: http://loaduiweb.org/downloads/download-loaduiweb.html.
- Run the Setup from the download location.
- Creation of a new project
- Open LoadUIWeb from the desktop
- From the create a new project
- Click on the “New Project” option to enter the project name and the location at which it is getting stored.
- Click the “Next” button to launch the Quality of service page where you can set the maximum page load time or maximum time to first byte .This an optional step and you can skip this step by clicking finish button.
- Recording the required Scenario
- For recording a required scenario click on the “Record User Scenario” button.
- On clicking record user scenario button you will get recording settings in which the following could be set
- Name of the scenario
- Name of the Load test
- Browser for recording
- URL to be tested
- Cache modes for the Browser
- After configuring, click on the “Record” button.
- Click “Stop” button after the recording the scenario.
- For recording a required scenario click on the “Record User Scenario” button.
- Configuring the load for the Load test
- From the project explorer window under test tab, open the load settings tab for the recorded scenario.
- In the Load setting page the requirements for the load test can be configured. First the following setting are configured :
- The number of virtual users.
- Scenario to do load test.
- Browser to run the load.
- Work station on which the load test has to be performed.
- The connection speed.
- Some other advanced settings are also available
- Load Profile :
- Continuous Load:
- Random Think Time:
- Quality of service:
- Load Profile :
- After configuring the required Load profile click on “Run This Load Test”.
- Getting the Load Result :-
- On running the load test first we will be shown the status of the test.
- After the load test is complete you will be able to view the result.
